For the academic year 2026\/2027<\/strong>, accommodation places are reserved for PhD students of the 42nd cycle<\/strong>.
PhD students from previous cycles who are already living in the Halls of Residence may reconfirm their accommodation, provided they are still within the standard duration of their PhD programme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accommodation is available in the following Halls of Residence:  of single rooms<\/strong> within shared apartments<\/strong> in the following residences:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marie Curie<\/strong> (single rooms<\/strong> within apartments<\/strong> shared with 2 or 3 PhD students)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Einstein<\/strong> (single rooms<\/strong> within apartments<\/strong> shared with 3 or 4 PhD students)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pareto<\/strong> (single rooms<\/strong> within apartments<\/strong> shared with 3 or 4 PhD students)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

La Presentazione<\/strong> (double rooms for single use). During the month of August, this Hall of Residence will be closed, and PhD students will be required to temporarily move to a Politecnico Hall of Residence in Milan until La Presentazione reopens on 25th August 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apartments are mixed-gender (M\/F)<\/strong> and are automatically assigned by the system<\/strong>.
Each PhD student may reserve one accommodation place only<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Reservations are\u00a0annual<\/strong>, with\u00a0priority renewal guaranteed<\/strong>\u00a0for the following two years of the standard PhD programme.
Before proceeding with the reservation, applicants are advised to check\u00a0the campus where the PhD teaching activities will take place<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

Thanks to the support of the \u201cRomeo and Enrica Invernizzi\u201d Foundation<\/strong>, new PhD students of the 42nd cycle may book accommodation in Halls of residence managed by Politecnico di Milano at a reduced rate<\/strong>, valid for all three years of the PhD programme<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

\n \n Reservation <\/button>\n <\/h2>\n \n

 <\/strong>Reservations for the 2026\/2027 academic year<\/strong> are exclusively reserved for:<\/p>\n\n

 \u2013 PhD students enrolled in the 42nd cycle<\/strong>;<\/p>\n\n

 \u2013 PhD students from previous cycles already living in residence<\/strong>, who wish to renew their accommodation for one additional year and who have not yet completed their PhD programme.<\/p>\n\n

Procedure<\/h5>\n\n

 \u2013 During the periods indicated below, it will be possible to access the Politecnico di Milano Online Services Portal<\/strong> using Politecnico credentials (if credentials are not available, registration is required).<\/p>\n\n

 \u2013 Select the residence<\/strong> and room type<\/strong>, subject to availability.<\/p>\n\n

 \u2013 Save the reservation.<\/p>\n\n

 \u2013 Complete payment within 24 hours<\/strong> via PagoPA<\/strong> of the first instalment<\/strong> and the non-interest-bearing security deposit of \u20ac500<\/strong> (if not previously paid).<\/p>\n\n

The reservation will be confirmed within 48 hours of payment<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Closing: 04\/09\/2026 at 23:59<\/p>\n\n

Check-in<\/strong> will be possible from 14\/09\/2026<\/strong>, regardless of the course start date.<\/p>\n\n

Annual reservation from 02\/11\/2026 to 29\/10\/2027 <\/strong>(Residence check-in: November)<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

Phase 2 \u2013 42nd cycle<\/strong> (successful applicants with course start date 01\/11\/2026)
Opening: 23\/10\/2026 at 12:00
Closing: 16\/04\/2027 at 23:59<\/p>\n\n

Check-in<\/strong> will be possible from 02\/11\/2026<\/strong>, regardless of the course start date.<\/p>\n\n

Annual reservation from 22\/12\/2026 to 20\/12\/2027<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

\n \n Payments <\/button>\n <\/h2>\n \n

\n
\n \n

Payment is made exclusively in 12 monthly instalments paid in advance<\/strong>.
At the time of reservation, payment of the first instalment<\/strong> and the non-interest-bearing security deposit of \u20ac500<\/strong> is required, if not already paid.<\/p>\n\n

The accommodation fee accrues from the reservation date<\/strong>, regardless of the actual check-in date.<\/p>\n\n

 \u2013 In the event of non-enrolment<\/strong>, amounts paid will not be refunded, except for the security deposit, which will be returned with a \u20ac100 deduction<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

 \u2013 In the event of enrolment but failure to obtain an entry visa<\/strong>, instalment payments remain due in full.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

\n \n Instalment issuance <\/button>\n <\/h2>\n \n

Instalments are issued on the 1st day of the previous month<\/strong> and must be paid by the 15th of the same month<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Example:<\/strong>
The instalment for November 2026 will be issued on 1 October 2026 and must be paid by 15 October 2026.<\/p>\n\n

Failure to pay by the deadline will result in revocation of the accommodation<\/strong> by the last day of the paid month and forfeiture of the security deposit as a penalty<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Example:<\/strong>
If the November 2026 instalment is not paid by 15 October 2026, the guest must vacate the accommodation by 31 October 2026 and the security deposit will be retained.<\/p>\n\n

If the assignment ends by the 15th of the month (last night)<\/strong>, half of the monthly fee<\/strong> will be charged.<\/p>\n\n

Example:<\/strong>
If the assignment ends on 10th January 2027, half of the January fee will be charged.<\/p>\n\n

If the assignment ends in the second half of the month (from the 16th<\/sup> onward)<\/strong>, the full monthly fee<\/strong> will be charged.<\/p>\n\n

Example:<\/strong>
If the assignment ends on 20 January 2027, the full January fee will be charged.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

Cancellation before check-in<\/p>\n\n

If a PhD student has already made a reservation and paid the first instalment and the security deposit and wishes to cancel before check-in<\/strong>, notice must be given at least 7 days before the agreed check-in date<\/strong>.
In this case, the first instalment will be retained as a penalty<\/strong>, while the security deposit will be refunded<\/strong>, less \u20ac100 for administrative costs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Cancellation after check-in<\/p>\n\n

Once check-in has taken place, the accommodation may be cancelled by providing at least two months\u2019 notice<\/strong> prior to the check-out date.<\/p>\n\n

Example:<\/strong>
If the guest intends to leave the residence on 20 January 2027<\/strong>, notice must be given by 20 November 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Failure to comply with the notice period will result in a charge of two monthly instalments<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

If cancellation is communicated within the required timeframe, the PhD student will be charged only for the actual period of residence<\/strong>, according to the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n

 \u2013 stay up to the 15th of the month (last night)<\/strong>: half of the monthly fee<\/strong>
Example:<\/strong>
If the guest leaves the residence on 5 January 2027, half of the January fee will be charged.<\/p>\n\n

 \u2013 stay from the 16th until the end of the month<\/strong>: full monthly fee<\/strong>
Example:<\/strong>
If the guest leaves the residence on 20 January 2027, the full January fee will be charged.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n

\n \n Cancellation procedure <\/button>\n <\/h2>\n \n

To submit a cancellation request, it is necessary to:<\/p>\n\n

 \u2013 open a ticket entitled \u201cCANCELLATION\u201d<\/strong> (here<\/a>), and<\/p>\n\n

 \u2013 simultaneously send an e-mail to phd-events@polimi.it<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Notifications sent through channels other than those indicated will not be considered valid<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n

Please note that the official cancellation notice<\/strong> must precede any subsequent communication with the residence director to arrange check-out procedures.<\/p>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n
