La Presentazione
La Presentazione Hall of Residence in Como is an elegant 19th-century historical residence dedicated to welcoming girls in difficulty. Since 2016, after restoration and recovery work by Politecnico di Milano, it has become a university hall of residence. The rooms overlook a beautiful internal cloister, where there is a garden with ornamental plants and an ancient well. The building offers single and double rooms with kitchens on each floor and two-person bright attic flats.
All communal areas are located on the ground floor, including a study room. The residence accommodates both Italian and international students, including students enrolled at Politecnico di Milano as well as those attending other educational institutions in the Como area, under specific agreements.
Choosing accommodation at La Presentazione is also a convenient option for Politecnico di Milano students attending the Bovisa Campus in Milan, which can be reached from the residence in just 50 minutes by train.
Flats are available for professors, researchers and visiting PhDs, booked through the Politecnico dedicated offices.

Charter of services
The Charter of Services is a document with which the Housing & Dining Unit of Politecnico di Milano informs users of the services made available to them within its residences.
It is for all guests of the residences of Politecnico di Milano.
The Charter of Services contains, among other things, the following information:
- contact details of the Director of the structure;
- the list of common areas that can be used within the residence and the methods of access;
- the list of services available to guests and their delivery modes;
- the list of on demand services available in the structure and their methods of request;
- instructions for reporting faults and requests for intervention;
- supplementary and recreational activities organized within the structures and methods of participation/registration.
Curiosity
The house was built in the ‘700. It hides an astonishing inner cloister, which can be seen from all the windows of the rooms. A marvelous laurel tree row and a vase hiding an ancient spring well decorate the cloister. Finally an old and little church has seen light again, with its fine canvas and glass windows. The “little church” will be used for conventions and social events.
Accomodation Type
“La presentazione” hall of residence offers its users a total of 165 beds, divided into single, double rooms and mini-housing units. the following is available:
- single room with private bathroom;
- double room with private bathroom;
- place in apartment/attic with two;
- rooms for people with disabilities;
- equipment for each guest: single bed, bedside table, desk, chair, wardrobe, bookcase;
- communal kitchens equipment: electric or induction hobs, oven, refrigerator, personal and communal lockers;
- bathroom facilities: all have a washbasin, shower and bidet. Some of them are equipped for people with motor disability.
- flat equipment: two single beds, two wardrobes, two desks, fridge, electric or induction hobs, microwave;
- The university internet network is accessible to enrolled students of the Politecnico di Milano through their own credentials. Students and professors from other universities can also access the network regularly using their federated IDEM and Eduroam credentials, as described on this page: Politecnico di Milano Wi‑Fi page If they do not have federated credentials, they can contact their own institution, which will reach out to GARR to activate them:

Guesthouse service
At La Presentazione Residence, Via Zezio, 58 – Como, a guesthouse service is available for short stays. The basic service includes overnight accommodation only; guests are not permitted access to the residence’s kitchens and long-term guest facilities. Breakfast is not available, nor are meals prepared or consumed on site. The following additional services are available upon payment: use of the equipped kitchen, use of the 50-seat lecture hall with large-format video screen, and use of the 20-seat conference room with large-format video screen. Technical support is not provided.

*Rates are valid for stays completed by 31 July of the current academic year and are subject to annual ISTAT adjustments and include: overnight accommodation, cleaning and daily maid service, internet connection. Double rooms are sharable by 2 students of the same gender or by adult couples (for example, parents, professors..). Only adults are allowed.

Booking Procedures
Send a request to foresteria-lapresentazione@polimi.it at least 2 weeks in advance including the following details:
- Guest’s Name and Surname
- TAX code and VAT code (if possessed)
- Phone number (mobile)
- Data di check-in e data di check-out
- Profile (student/professor/parent..)
- Permanent registered address of residence (Street, House number, Zip code, City, Province, State)
- Type of accommodation chosen (in case the person wants to book a double room for 2 guests, write also the other guest’s name and surname and gender)
- Events name
- Number of the guests (being aware that the office will ask to send in advance the concerning fully filled in list, with name-surname-email address-mobile phone number of each one)
- Type of accommodation chosen (attention: the accommodations in double room are assigned according to the guests’ gender, therefore double rooms are not mixed)
- Data di check-in e data di check-out
- Private/Public Entity responsible of the payment and relevant details for the invoicing
- Person of reference for the group (name – surname – email/mobile phone number)
Payment Methods
The payment is intended in advance and it is necessary to confirm the accommodation in the requested period. The payment methods will be given togheter with the confirmation of the availabiltiy of the required accommodation/s. Once the reservation procedure has been completed, no refund is expected. Possible subsequent extension of the period of stay and/or increments of the already agreed participants’ number are not guaranteed.
Regulations, damages and penalties
Guests in guestroom comply with the Regulations in force (www.residenze.polimi.it/en/regolamento/) and undertake to pay for possible damages and penalties charged on them during the stay or at the check-out.
In case of bookings done by an entity, in absence of the payment done by the guest, the service will ask the for the payment to the relevant entity.
