"Dateo" Residence Hall

Piazzale Dateo, 5 | Milano

Accommodation is in a prestigious liberty-style building owned by the Municipality of Milano. Built in 1905, designed by engineer Bonomi, it represents a significant evidence of building built for the families of the petty bourgeoisie, in major urban solutions in the early twentieth century.

The building stands out for its uncommon grandeur for a residential building and is designed as a quadrangle, which occupies an entire block, with a central courtyard.

The building was completely renovated and is now used as public housing; the thirty apartments (one, two and three rooms flat) are reserved for students, researchers and university professors; they are distributed over 6 floors and. One-room flats are very bright and located in the attic of the building on the 6th floor.

All apartments are fully furnished and provided with household appliances, independent heating and internet connection; rooms are single or double.

The accommodation in this residence is reserved to students who take part to the “Solidarity with the Neighbourhood” project. Each student is asked to dedicate to volunteer work particularly in favour of self-sufficient elderly persons and students of primary and secondary schools, who live in the neighbourhood.
