Accommodation for students with disabilities

In its Milan, Lecco and Como Halls of Residence, the Politecnico di Milano has accommodation dedicated specifically to students and teaching staff with disabilities, offering them the opportunity to comfortably enjoy their university experience to the fullest in a collective setting that meets their needs.

 

Types of accommodation available

“Casa dello Studente” Hall of Residence, Viale Romagna, 62 – Milan | Single room and fully-equipped studio apartment 

(NOT AVAILABLE FOR RESERVATIONS DURING THE A.Y. 2022-2023)

“Pareto” Hall of Residence, Via Maggianico, 6 – Milan | Single room with shared fully-equipped bathroom

“Newton” Hall of Residence, Via Borsa, 25 – Milan | Double room with shared fully-equipped bathroom

“Einstein” Hall of Residence, Via Einstein, 6 – Milan | Single room with shared fully-equipped bathroom

“Loos” Hall of Residence, Via A. Ghislanzoni, 24 – Lecco | Single room with fully-equipped bathroom and fully-equipped studio apartment

“La Presentazione” Hall of Residence, Via Zezio, 58 – Como | Double room with shared fully-equipped bathroom

 

Rates

   – Users entitled to preferential-rate housing (DSU recipients): preferential rate (link to figure for accommodation deduction established by the Regional Government).

   – Full-rate users with certified disability >= 66%: preferential rate (link to figure for accommodation deduction established by the Regional Government).

   – Carers for users with certified disability >= 66%: preferential rate (link to figure for accommodation deduction established by the Regional Government) on the condition that the carer is living in the same room. 

   – Users with certified disability percentage lower than 66%: full rate for the Hall of Residence in question.

 

Procedure for requesting accommodation

It is possible to request a housing place by following the procedure below:

 

Submission of request

To request a housing place, you must send your request to the email address multichance@polimi.it specifying the type of disability you have and attaching the relevant medical documentation. THE REQUEST FOR FIRST SEMESTER MUST BE SENT BY THE END OF MAY; FOR THE SECOND SEMESTER, BY THE END OF NOVEMBER.

Please note: The Politecnico di Milano guarantees the utmost confidentiality in all these communications – which will be managed directly with the guest alone – in that they concern their medical status and the handling of the relevant documents.

 

Assessment interview

Once they have received all the documentation, the Multichance Service will contact the applicant to set a date for an assessment interview and will forward the request for accommodation to the Housing & Dining Unit.

 

Offer of accommodation

The Housing & Dining Unit will establish the accommodation setup best suited to the applicant and will send them an offer of accommodation, including all the instructions needed in order to book and confirm the housing place.
