For A.Y. 2025/2026, places bookable by 41st Cycle PhDs are in single rooms in shared apartments in the following residences:

– Marie Curie (2, 3 PhDs apartments)

– Einstein (3 or 4 PhDs apartments)

– Pareto (3 or 4 PhDs apartments)

The apartments are mixed (thus assigned to both genders M/F) and assigned by the system automatically.

Each PhD student may reserve only one housing place; the reserved place is reserved for 1 year with guaranteed preemption for the next 2 years of standard PhD career.

Before booking an accommodation, we suggest checking on which campus the doctoral course activities will take place.

RATES

Thanks to the “Romeo and Enrica Invernizzi” foundation, new 41st cycle doctoral students will be able to reserve a place at residences managed by the Politecnico di Milano, at a reduced rate compared to current costs, for all three years of the doctoral program.

BOOKING

You can check availability and book through the online booking platform. Only those who are enrolled in the 41^st cycle will be able to book, and more specifically:

 – winners of the Call with course start 12/09/2025

 – winners of the Call  with course start 01/11/2025

Reservation will take place in two phases:

 – the first phase will open on 25/07/2025 at 12:00 (midday Italian time)

 – the second phase will open on 24/10/2025 at 12:00 (midday Italian time)

In case of non-registration to the PhD program at Politecnico di Milano, you will lose the right to occupy the accommodation and what you paid for the reservation will not be refunded, except for the security deposit which will be reduced by € 100.00 for administrative expenses.

In case of matriculation but not obtaining an entry visa, the installment payment is due in any case without discount.

In case the PhD candidate has booked, paying first installment + deposit, and wants to give cancellation before entering the residence, he/she must do so with at least 7 days’ notice. He/she will lose the first installment as a penalty, but will be refunded the deposit minus €100.00 for administrative expenses 

 

 

DURATION OF THE RESERVATION

At the time of booking, the accommodation is reserved for the 1st year of the doctoral career;

If during this year the guest will have to carry out a period of training abroad, he/she will be able to decide whether to keep the accommodation by continuing to pay the fees or to cancel it within the time and in the manner provided in the paragraph “Cancellation”.

At the time of booking, you will then have the opportunity to reserve the accommodation for the 1st year, according to the following dates:

 – Call with course start on 12/09/2025: with the reservation you will reserve the place from 15/09/2025 to 11/09/2026.

  – Call with course start on 01/11/2025: with the reservation you will reserve the place from 03/11/2025 to 30/10/2026.

PLEASE NOTE: only those who finalise enrolment will be able to check-in in the halls of residence. It will not be possible for candidates who are not yet officially enrolled in their respective courses to check-in, even though they have a valid booking.

 

 

CHECK-IN DATES

For the call with course start 12/09/2025 regardless of the course start date it will be possible to check-in from 15/09/2025.

For the call with course start 01/11/2025, regardless of the course start date it will be possible to check-in from 03/11/2025. 

PAYMENTS

INSTALMENTS ISSUING

The installments will be monthly and in advance. They will be issued on the 1st of the previous month. Payment must be made by the 15th of the previous month.

Example:

The installment for November 2025 will be issued on October 1, 2025 and must be paid by October 15, 2025.

 

If payment is not made by the 15th of the previous month, we will proceed to revocation of the accommodation by the last day of the paid month and withholding the deposit as a penalty

Example: If the November 2025 installment is not paid by October 15, 2025, the guest will have to vacate the accommodation by October 31, 2025.

 

Those whose assignment ends by the 15th of the month will be charged half of the tuition.

Example:

If the assignment ends on January 14, 2026, the guest will have to pay half of January’s tuition by December 15, 2025.

 

Those whose assignment ends in the second half of the month will be charged the full installment.

Example:

If the assignment ends on January 20, 2026, the guest will have to pay the full tuition for the month of January by December 15, 2025.

CANCELLATION

Once checked into the residence, it is possible to cancel the occupied place, but notice must be given two months in advance of the check-out date.

Example:

If the guest intends to check out on January 20, 2026, he/she must give notice by November 20th, 2025.

Failure to give notice will result in the payment of two months’ rates.

By giving notice on time, the doctoral candidate will only be charged for the period of residence.

Those who stay until the 15th of the month will be charged half of the tuition.

Example:

If the guest intends to leave on January 5, 2026, he/she will pay half tuition.

Those who stay from the 16th of the month until the end of the month will be charged the full tuition.

Example:

If the guest intends to leave on January 16, 2026, he/she will pay full tuition.

To communicate the cancellation, it is necessary to open a ticket entitled CANCELLATION here, and simultaneously send an email to: phd-events@polimi.it.

Notifications received through channels other than those indicated will not be considered valid.

It should also be noted, that the official notice of cancellation precedes the communication by which you agree to check out with the director/residence manager.

Once the cancellation has been communicated, the guest will receive all necessary directions for check-out and refund of the security deposit.
