Green food week 2026

From April 13 to 17, 2026, the Politecnico di Milano is taking part in Green Food Week 2026, the national initiative promoted by Foodinsider to encourage sustainable food choices and reduce the environmental impact of collective catering.

The 2026 edition highlights the Mediterranean diet as a balanced and sustainable model. Legumes, grains and vegetables will take center stage in menus that combine nutritional quality with a reduced environmental footprint, prioritizing seasonal, local products grown using soil-friendly methods and offering tasty, well-balanced meat-free alternatives.

During Green Food Week 2026, at the Politecnico’s dining facilities you will find daily plant-based options: legumes, grains, vegetables and delicious meat-free alternatives available throughout the week.

Thursday will be an entirely meat-free day, an opportunity to discover new flavors and contribute together to more sustainable choices.

On Thursday, you will also be able to help reduce food waste by disposing of organic leftovers in the designated bins: the organic waste will be transformed into compost and used to nourish the soil of the Coltivando community garden (Bovisa campus).
